Mission Statement

Los Altos Hacks VII is Los Altos's seventh annual high school hackathon.

We inspire programmers of all skill levels to fall in love with technology and programming; our past six events have served over 2000 Bay Area high schoolers, giving them the opportunity to learn and apply new skills through the projects they make at our event.

Our hackathons have consistently been the largest highschool hackathon on the West Coast, and for several of our events, one of the largest highschool hackathons globally. This year, we are aiming to have 350 attendees, with an emphasis placed on including minority groups in STEM.

Since we were founded, we have made it our goal to maintain a 1:1 gender ratio and ensure that students, regardless of their background, can have the opportunity to attend our hackathon and become inspired to pursue a career in STEM.

Why should I sponsor Los Altos Hacks?

Sponsors will have the opportunity to send mentors, present their products, and evangelize their brands at Los Altos Hacks. Not only will you be able to tap into the limitless potential of the next generation of programmers, but you’ll also be able to make an impactful first impression on our attendees, many of whom are first-time coders. With this opportunity to reach out and advertise to young coders, representatives from your company will also be able to increase your leverage and consumer base. Many of our past sponsors have also found qualified summer interns at our event and were able to successfully recruit these talented minds through our sponsorship program. Our attendees’ performance in the hackathon is itself an excellent indicator of programming skill and creativity.

Where will my money go?

Your gracious donation will be going towards swag for attendees (with your logo on it at the Silver level and above!), prizes, events, and everything else required to run the nation’s largest student-run high school hackathon. Hack Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is the official fiscal sponsor of Los Altos Hacks and processes all donations. All contributions will therefore be tax-deductible.

How can I help?

There are many ways you can support our organization, including donating money directly to Los Altos Hacks, which us the flexibility to ensure that all needs are fully catered to; sending evangelists or engineers to mentor and inspire students; and providing students with the programming tools to use during the event (e.g., hosting, hardware, and API credits).
